Module 1: Business Management, Organization & Marketing

This module provides foundational theoretical knowledge in business management, organization, and marketing. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role of management and its significance in business operations.
  • Identify the five core functions of management.
  • Comprehend the principles of business organization.
  • Distinguish between an organization’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Recognize the key characteristics and essential skills of a manager, including practical strategies for effective daily task management.
  • Differentiate between various marketing applications and their strategic importance.
  • Analyze the marketing mix and its core functions.
  • Understand the product lifecycle and its impact on business strategy.
  • Develop a marketing plan to implement an effective marketing strategy.
  • Distinguish between advertising and public relations and their role in a company’s successful market presence.

This module equips participants with critical business and marketing insights, preparing them for leadership roles and strategic decision-making in a competitive market.

Days 1 & 2 – Introduction to Business Management & Organization

This session provides an overview of business management principles and their role in organizational effectiveness. Topics include:

  • Historical evolution of management theories (Fayol, Weber, Gantt, etc.).
  • Definition and scope of management – understanding its role in business success.
  • Core functions of management – planning, directing, organizing, staffing, and controlling.
  • Business organization principles – how structure impacts efficiency.
  • Defining an organization – vision, mission, and values.

Day 3 – Core Managerial Skills

This session focuses on developing essential management competencies, including:

  • Leadership and team motivation.
  • Effective communication techniques.
  • Improving employee performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Time management and decision-making strategies.
  • Problem-solving approaches.
  • Staffing and scheduling for operational efficiency.

Day 4 – Introduction to Business & Organizational Marketing (Part 1)

An introduction to marketing principles and their business applications, covering:

  • What is marketing? – fundamentals and key concepts.
  • Historical evolution of marketing.
  • Marketing applications across industries (services, consumer goods, industrial products, cultural and international marketing).
  • Core marketing functions – selling, distribution, pricing, and financing.

Day 5 – Business & Organizational Marketing (Part 2)

A deep dive into strategic marketing, focusing on:

  • Marketing mix models – 4Ps and 4Rs analysis.
  • Product lifecycle theory (BCG matrix analysis).
  • Developing a marketing plan – objectives, market analysis, action plans, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Advertising, promotion, and public relations – how they contribute to brand success.

This module equips participants with a strong foundation in business management and marketing, preparing them for leadership roles and strategic decision-making in competitive industries.

  • The Management for HO.RE.CA seminars are available in-person (Athens) or online via live webinars conducted through the Zoom platform. The live webinar format is interactive and instructor-led, requiring active participation on scheduled dates and times.
  • The program consists of five independent modules, tailored for both new and experienced managers or business owners seeking to enhance their skills in managing a modern and competitive bar. Participants have the flexibility to attend modules in any order based on their individual learning goals.
  • Upon successful completion of the full training program, including both theoretical and practical assessments, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. If the required criteria are not met, the certificate will not be issued. Students have the right to retake the program at no additional cost, in accordance with the academy’s retake policy.
