George Megalokonomos

He studied Business Administration at the University of the Aegean and pursued postgraduate studies in Tourism. His journey in hospitality began in 2005 at TGI Fridays, where he worked across all front-of-house roles. Since then, the bar has always felt like a second home.

Over the years, he held Head Bartender and Bar Manager positions at several renowned venues, including Think+, Food Mafia, and Noel. For the past three years, he has been the Head Bartender at Avra Bar in the Four Seasons Astir Palace.

His professional development has been shaped by continuous learning and training—he holds WSPC Levels 1 & 2—along with international travel and participation in global trade shows. He has also competed in numerous cocktail competitions, earning notable accolades such as:

  • 1st place at the Skinos Cocktail Challenge (2013)
  • 2nd place at the Angostura Cocktail Challenge (2012)
  • 2nd place at Bacardi Legacy Greece (2016)

His favorite spirit? Whiskey — a reflection of his deep appreciation for complexity and character.
